Great Ties in GEORGIA History

ONE: WHEN AUBURN WAS ON THE NATION’S LONGEST WINNING STREAK IN FOOTBALL, AND WE WERE NOT A VERY GOOD TEAM. WE HAD ERIC ZEIER AT QUARTERBACK AND HAD LOOKED TO BE A BETTER TEAM THAN WE ACTUALLY WERE. WE HAD DEFENSE ISSUES AND O-LINE ISSUES AND RUNNING BACK INJURY ISSUES THAT SEASON. BUT WE PUT IT TOGETHER LONG ENOUGH TO MAKE A COMEBACK AND TIE AUBURN…IT FELT LIKE A WIN. TWO: YESTERDAY IN BASEBALL. TRAILING 10-3 LATE, OUR DIAMOND DOGS SURGED BACK TO TIE LSU 10-10, SALVAGING A 2-0-1 MARK IN THE SERIES. WE WERE NOT BEATEN; WE HAVE NOT BEEN BEATEN IN 11 SEC GAMES AND 3 SEC SERIES IN A ROW. IT WAS AWESOME. LSU IS NOT GREAT THIS YEAR IN BASEBALL – IN FACT LSUCKS – BUT THEY ARE A PROGRAM OF NOTE IN BASEBALL AND THEY WERE AT HOME AND WE WERE DOWN 7 RUNS TO THEM. WE ARE ON ONE HELL OF A RUN. AND THE CURRENT RULE IN COLLEGE BASEBALL SAYS, IF YOU HAVE A PLANE TO CATCH AT X-O’CLOCK, YOU LEAVE TO CATCH THE FLIGHT REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME. THE OUTCOME SAID 10-10 AT THE TIME WE HAD TO ROLL OUT, BENGALS. IT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN A WIN…BUT YOU DID NOT BEAT US!!!
