Bit of a Two-Man, Streaky Half in Nashville

Beal and Leslie Put on Two-Man Show In Streaky Half of Play:

Vandy led most of the half on the shooting prowess of All-SEC Senior Guard Justin Beal (12 pts.) and takes to the locker room in Nashville with a lead of 35-27, after a 12-2 run to end the half. On a prior GEORGIA 12-1 run powered by an athletic energy outburst by Sophomore Travis Leslie (16 pts.), UGA took a brief 25-23 lead.

Vandy is playing like the host team in their home town of Nashville tonight. The winner gets the defending SEC Tourney Champ Mississippi State University Bulldogs in the SEC semifinals at 3:15pm tomorrow on ABC. The early game tomorrow will feature #2 Kentucky versus Tennessee at 1pm.

For GEORGIA to advance, we must play better perimeter defense, avoid putting the sweet-shooting Commodores on the foul stripe too often, and get our All-SEC Sophomore Forward involved. Under the pressure of a collapsing Vandy defense, Trey Thompkins was held to zero points in the half, fresh off a huge statistical performance against Arkansas late last night.

Come on, DAWGS. Win one for the alums and give us something to keep cheering about this weekend.
