Longest-Tenured SEC Coach Faces Must Win

Let’s face it: GEORGIA must win Saturday night in Starkville. Are we really going to plummet from a number 2 team at season’s end only 3 seasons ago, to a squad that is 0-3 in the SEC, coming off a 5-loss season? The season will be utterly unsalvageable if we start winless in the league at this point.

It’s gut check time, and I expect us to win. Richt has historically had much success against SEC West opponents in their home stadiums. And Miss State fell apart at LSU and was clobbered, after dropping a close home game late against Auburn. Both teams are 1-2 and desperate for a win, but if we are the DAWGS program that we know and still love, then we must go to 2-2 and start winning games this week.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Aaron Murray hasn’t won an SEC game or road game and could complete both on one evening. Or it will get ugly around Athens and the state of Georgia as the Dawg Nation really rip into our own program.

I’m standing by GEORGIA no matter what, but for Richt to right this ship anytime soon this is a must win. Let the real DAWGS eat. Go DAWGS!!!
