Nice Road Win in Hogland

Desperate to win a conference game after two straight close SEC East division losses, UGA won by one point at Arkansas Wednesday night. Trey Thompkins appeared to have traveled after he drew the foul on the final shot of the game. He swished the first free throw to break a 59-59 tie and then wisely missed the second intentionally, allowing the game clock to expire. Georgia got off to a slow start early, with preseason SEC Player of the Year Thompkins in foul trouble and held scoreless in the first half. This is the type of win that builds resiliency, and now Georgia tries to string together consecutive conference wins with Auburn traveling to the Classic City for a 1:30 p.m. Saturday tilt. The Hoop Dawgs won only fourteen total games last season and have already won fifteen this season, only Mark Fox’s second as University of Georgia head basketball coach.
