Tough Home Loss
Playing without starting fullback Chapas, starting tailback C. King and suspended all-world (selfish idiot) wideout AJ Green, Georgia trailed top SEC offensive squad Arkansas by two touchdowns late. The play calling had been so predictable that I called for an offensive coordinator change by day’s end.
Suddenly, we showed heart and a furious rally was complete at 24-24. Georgia with the ball next and about a minute left in the game. Third and four and Murray was sacked, with no outlet receiver on the play. His helmet flew, and Georgia had to punt.
Arkansas drove quickly. Then they scored on a secondary breakdown, and we lost – going 0-2 in the SEC for the first time under Richt. This season – that looked promising to start – will go down as a rebuilding year. And then top talents Justin Houston and AJ Green will go pro early. Tough home loss.
