Disappointing Triumvirate: Green, Ealey, C. King
When I’m publicly having to answer this question to LSU fans and BAMA fans: What happened to GEORGIA? We have problems as a program.
We have been a huge two-year disappointment, after being disappointed with a #10 national finish three seasons ago. Five losses last year; four losses already this year.
And none have disappointed more than our offensive skill position talent. After a dominant rushing attack was found late last year – especially in the Tech game – I expected Ealey and King to follow up with huge seasons. They themselves talked of rushing for 1,000 yards each.
AJ Green was back and healthy and clearly destined for the pros as quickly as allowable. His junior season was an encore to a great freshman year and dominant sophomore season prior to injury.
Instead all three of our primary weapons have been suspended for games, and only AJ has performed consistently well on the field when playing. AJ sitting out four games to NCAA suspension clearly cost us the most.
Caleb has shown flashes of great yet will now sit out two games following arrest for not paying a motor violation. And his bonehead fumble at Colorado point blank cost us the game after we had it won. Plus, Ealey fumbles. After sitting out the opener on suspension for driving without a valid license, Ealey started playing…and fumbling, He has dropped three of late, two that may have eventually cost us games at Miss State and S. Carlolina. And his backup is Carlton Thomas, a player too tiny for offensive coordinator Mike Bobo’s power rushing play calling.
It’s been a bad year already. Here’s the upcoming schedule:
FLORIDA in Jacksonville (3:30)
Idaho St. (12:30)
We must win each of these next four games to be over .500 heading into a final two-game stretch at undefeated Auburn and between the hedges in the Classic City against defending ACC champ Georgia Tech. GO DAWGS!!!
