Practice Today in Athens

At soon-to-be SEC entrant Texas A&M they have cheer practice before games. When I haven’t barked audibly in a few months, my cadence is a bit off too. And when a proud football program has not won a football game in ten months, they desperately need to practice winning.

Georgia will win Between the Hedges today, after delaying the inevitable breaking of our losing streak last week by gifting South Carolina twenty-eight of the forty-five points they scored. The final score could have been 42-17, but it wasn’t and UGA could have been 1-0 and in first place in the SEC East. Well, we ain’t!

At 0-2 overall and winless in two games played instate, coming off a 6-7 season that followed a five-loss season, having lost three games in a row now and four-of-five, must we fear the Chanticleers from S. Carolina? No.

Aaron Murray will run his career mark to 7-9. Beat the SEC Mississippi schools in consecutive weeks and he can be a not so hot .500 heading to Rocky Top, where the beloved UGA Dawgs have been blown out twice consecutively, by an average at best football program.

Prediction: Georgia will win by at least 40 today, and no one will feel a bit better. Promise: If UGA somehow loses today, Mark Richt will be fired on Monday.
