HAN VANCE ON GEORGIA FOOTBALL: The junkyard defense is giving up just 1.5 points per game in the 2021 season, an unattainable-long school record pace that can’t be maintained over 15 games to the Natty. It looks really good right now, though.

South Carolina hired a good coach and last gutted out a gritty win at a game East Carolina in Greenville, and passes through the Border Bash in Augusta to reach the Classic City.

They are 2-0 and on a winning streak of a game Between the Hedges. But, they are 30+ point underdogs Saturday night. The series is 52-19-2 Georgia.

S Carolina only had six total wins prior to their 1984 win but went a respectable 7-10 versus the Dawgs in total from 1978-1996 and 9-13 from 1978-2001. In 2000 and 2001, they won two straight over UGA. They once took three straight, from 2010-2012, and finished the run with 4-of-5 from 2010-2014.

Speaking of run: Georgia ran it right at them last year, the best running performance of the too-brief five game JT Daniels era, which is again on hold as of last Saturday in Athens.
