Big Win at Rocky Top

Travis Leslie was named best dunker in college by a panel of voters on ESPN’s College Gameday then had fifteen in Knoxville. UGA’s leading scorer on the day however was steady senior center Jeremy Price with twenty. Georgia got out to a big early lead, as has been the case in many close losses this season. This time the Dawgs held on and got the big road win 69-63.

UGA lost two home games lately: one out of conference to recent national power Xavier and one to recent SEC power Vanderbilt. Yet Mark Fox’s team has now won four-of-five SEC contests, is 7-2 on the road this season and has reached the eighteen-win plateau. Two or three more total wins should be all that is required of UGA to get into the Big Dance which starts March 15th, after the SEC Tournament in Atlanta. Before that, four SEC regular season games remain: two are very winnable home games (South Carolina, LSU) and two are tough road contests against SEC division leaders (Florida, Bama). I’d love to see UGA win at least three of the the next four to gain some momentum for the postseason.
