Notre Dame in Athens rolls off non-conference for the ACC’s Virginia Cavaliers in Atlanta, a late arriving season opener not played until Labor Day, Monday the 7th of September. At mighty Top 5 Bama looms on the upcoming slate, in exchange for third-tier SEC Texas A&M in Athens. The Aggies were a win in ’19, as UGA finally swept the SEC West in the regular season while going 11-1 for a third straight regular season campaign, only to ultimately be blown out in the SECCG. Georgia has won twice in a row on the capstone at Bama, while losing five straight to them overall. Auburn cried enough to the SEC office in Birmingham to be moved into the middle of the Georgia schedule, still owing Ol’ Georgia a home game, as we had played twice consecutively at Auburn to keep the annual series intact, with no other return benefit to UGA. South Carolina is way back in November, with Tennessee a week later. The last SEC game is up on the Bluegrass at Kentucky, a fun away destination but quite a far cry from the previously traditional annual league finale for UGA of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. Georgia-Florida on Halloween (3:30, CBS) is clearly the only truly huge SEC East game and is another preseason-Top 10 tilt.

*Due to Coronavirus, the full attendance of home fans at live games, and tailgates, remains in question. Although it is foreseen by most that there will be an American college football season played, how that happens is probably still undecided and awaits NCAA update.
